Overview

Kulekhani Hydroelectric Power Stations are located at about 30 km southwest of Kathmandu. The system consists of two power stations of Kulekhani No. 1 (KL-1) and No. 2 (KL-2). KL-1 is a reservoir type scheme having installed capacity of 60 MW, commissioned in 1982. KL-2 utilizes released discharge of KL-1 tailrace for power generation with installed capacity of 32 MW, commissioned 1986.
